It is cherry-blossom season in spring. A group of monks from the eastern provinces has come to the capital and is visiting Kiyomizu-dera Temple.
A boy carrying a broom appears. He praises the cherry blossoms of the temple. Is he guarding them?

The boy tells them that Kiyomizu-dera Temple was built through the efforts of Sakanoue no Tamuramaru.

Before long, there is moonlight. The boy dances as if admiring the scene of cherry blossoms on a spring evening.

The monks ask the boy his name, but he doesn’t introduce himself. Before long, he disappears towards the hall associated with Tamuramaru.

As the monks recite the Lotus Sutra, the shogun Sakanoue no Tamuramaru appears before them.
